Deck overview

This deck is an Azorius artifact-focused token strategy commanded by Belisarius Cawl. The primary game plan revolves around deploying inexpensive artifacts and mana rocks in the opening turns, casting Cawl on Turn 3 or 4, and utilizing its activated abilities to churn out 2/2 Astartes Warrior tokens while digging for high-impact artifact cards. The deck transitions into a lethal threat around Turn 6 by resolving powerful team-wide buffs like Coat of Arms, Eldrazi Monument, or Forsaken Monument, eliminating opponents through scaling combat damage over subsequent turns. Supporting pieces like Drumbellower and Unwinding Clock allow Cawl to activate during each player's turn, dramatically accelerating token creation and library digging. The deck also features an infinite colorless mana loop via Basalt Monolith and Forsaken Monument, alongside defensive anchors such as Cryptothrall and Fountain Watch. Its main challenges lie in vulnerability to mass exile effects and high reliance on combat steps across multiple turn cycles.
