Deck overview

This deck is a Simic midrange engine built around Tawnos, the Toymaker. It uses Tawnos's ability to duplicate Beast and Bird creature spells, creating artifact token copies. This interaction creates unique synergy with the mutate mechanic: mutating a Beast or Bird onto a non-Human host causes Tawnos to duplicate the mutating spell on the stack. Both copies merge into the host creature, triggering mutate abilities multiple times per cast. The mana base uses dense two-mana ramp to deploy Tawnos on turn four and start copying spells on turn five. Value engines like Elemental Bond and Auspicious Starrix rapidly draw cards and cheat permanents into play. The deck wins by overwhelming opponents with large token swarms and trample enablers like Thunderfoot Baloth and Ulvenwald Oddity. Backup copy engines such as Volo, Guide to Monsters and Reflections of Littjara keep the deck resilient even if the commander is removed.
