Deck overview

This deck is a Simic self-mill combo deck commanded by Grolnok, the Omnivore. The primary game plan revolves around accelerating mana in the early turns using efficient mana dorks and land ramp, casting Grolnok on Turn 3, and converting Frog combat triggers and mass-mill spells into massive card advantage. Grolnok's replacement-style trigger exiles all milled permanents with croak counters, effectively creating a second, highly resilient hand. Once high-volume mill effects like Traumatize or Cut Your Losses resolve, the deck dumps large portions of its library into croak exile, providing the mana rocks, lands, and redundancy needed to deploy Thassa's Oracle, Laboratory Maniac, or Jace, Wielder of Mysteries on Turn 6. While vulnerable to early targeted removal on Grolnok and graveyard-style library exile hate, the deck boasts formidable card flow, solid backup win conditions, and versatile Simic interaction to protect its winning turn.
