Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Mill Combo-Control strategy helmed by Lord Xander, the Collector. While the commander offers heavy single-target attrition upon entering the battlefield, attacking, and dying, the deck's primary route to victory is assembling deterministic mill combos. The centerpiece combo utilizes Duskmantle Guildmage and Mindcrank, which creates an infinite loop of mill and life loss that empties all opposing libraries and life totals in a single turn. Backing this plan is a secondary combo featuring Bruvac the Grandiloquent and a kicked Maddening Cacophony. The deck utilizes an abundant suite of 2-mana artifacts to accelerate mana, while leveraging Lantern Control elements like Lantern of Insight, Codex Shredder, and Wand of Denial to monitor and curate topdecks. Because the list lacks universal creature tutors, it relies on control elements, card draw from Rhystic Study and Sire of Stagnation, and graveyard recursion to survive into the late game where it executes its game-ending combinations.
