Deck overview

This deck is a flavorful Grixis Zombie and Amass themed build centered on Marchesa, the Black Rose. Leveraging the Amonkhet and War of the Spark Eternals storyline, it combines the amass mechanic, afflict creatures, and +1/+1 counter synergies to generate recursive board presence. When Marchesa is on the battlefield, attacking the opponent with the highest life total grants creatures +1/+1 counters through dethrone, allowing them to recur at the end step if sacrificed or killed in combat. High-end threats like The Scarab God, Neheb, the Eternal, and God-Eternal Bontu provide late-game inevitability and card draw, while Uncivil Unrest turns modest Zombie armies into lethal combat damage. Because the list leans into thematic card choices, it plays a fair, grindy combat game rather than seeking explosive combo finishes.
