Deck overview

This Izzet deck is a classic Combo-Control build focused on assembling Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind with Curiosity, Ophidian Eye, or Tandem Lookout. The early turns focus on developing mana velocity using artifacts like Sol Ring, Mana Vault, and cost-reducing creatures such as Baral, Chief of Compliance. Once the mana foundation is secure, the deck digs aggressively through its library using high-velocity wheels like Wheel of Fortune, Timetwister, and Wind of Change. After casting Niv-Mizzet on Turn 4 or 5, enchanting him with Curiosity creates an immediate chain reaction: drawing a card triggers Niv-Mizzet to deal 1 damage to an opponent, which in turn triggers Curiosity to draw another card. By drawing into zero-cost mana and graveyard reshuffle spells, the deck generates sufficient damage to eliminate all three opponents on the same turn. Powerful free interaction like Deflecting Swat and Fierce Guardianship provides robust protection during the critical winning window.
