Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Simic tribal strategy commanded by Hakbal of the Surging Soul. Its primary objective is to curve out with low-cost Merfolk during the opening turns, establish Hakbal by Turn 4, and leverage repeated mass-explore triggers to rapidly scale creature power while drawing lands. By Turn 5, the deck transitions from value generation to lethal pressure by granting its counter-laden Merfolk evasion through Herald of Secret Streams, Deepchannel Mentor, or asymmetric bounce spells such as Raise the Palisade and Wave Goodbye. The deck backs up this aggressive clock with an efficient suite of 1-to-2 mana counterspells and protective instants like Heroic Intervention and Ripples of Potential to insulate its wide board from opposing board wipes. Over Turns 5 through 7, it methodically eliminates all three opponents with unblockable combat damage.
