Deck overview

Alela, Cunning Conqueror leads a flash-speed Dimir tempo and control deck that dominates the game through instant-speed interaction and evasive token generation. Alela rewards casting spells during opponents turns by creating flying Faerie Rogues and goading threats upon dealing combat damage. The primary strategy controls the stack with counterspells like Mana Drain and Force of Will while chipping away at life totals with evasive Faeries boosted by Tegwyll, Duke of Splendor and Scion of Oona. The deck closes games through an explosive Notorious Throng extra turn, a Hullbreaker Horror bounce lock, or overwhelming card advantage converted from Skullclamp and The One Ring into evasive combat damage.
