Deck overview

This deck pairs Alena, Kessig Trapper and Gilanra, Caller of Wirewood to form a high-velocity Gruul stompy engine. Gilanra accelerates into the early game and replaces high-mana investments by cantripping on spells with mana value 6 or greater. Alena converts high-power entries into massive bursts of red mana, enabling explosive multi-spell turns. The list transitions smoothly from cheap ramp into colossal threats like Etali, Primal Conqueror, Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant, and Craterhoof Behemoth, while supporting an infinite combat loop with Aggravated Assault and Savage Ventmaw. Card velocity remains strong through power-based draw engines like Garruk's Uprising and Greater Good. The deck trades heavy stack interaction for proactive, overwhelming combat pressure and resilient recovery.
