Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan Midrange and Stax Combo list led by Tayam, Luminous Enigma. The strategy focuses on slowing down opposing decks with efficient hatebears while assembling counter-driven graveyard recursion engines. Tayam places vigilance counters on every other entering creature and converts three counters into repeatable self-mill and permanent recursion for cards with mana value 3 or less. Key stax pieces like Drannith Magistrate and Eidolon of Rhetoric severely limit opposing casting velocity, while Tayam easily breaks parity by activating abilities to put permanents straight onto the battlefield. The deck finishes games through an infinite activated loop involving Devoted Druid, Insidious Roots, and Tayam, milling the entire library and draining all opponents with Blood Artist or Zulaport Cutthroat. While highly resilient to conventional board wipes, the deck is vulnerable to targeted graveyard exile and activated-ability shutdown effects.
