Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Golgari midrange build centered on The Gitrog, Ravenous Ride. The strategy revolves around deploying aggressively costed, high-power creatures early, such as Rotting Regisaur and Rot-Curse Rakshasa, or graveyard-scaling threats like Boneyard Wurm and Boneyard Mycodrax. Casting Gitrog on turn 4 allows immediate combat with haste and trample, saddling the high-power creature to draw massive chunks of cards and drop multiple lands into play tapped. This sudden influx of resources sets up an explosive turn 5 where the deck deploys game-ending threats like Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord, Ghalta, Primal Hunger, The Skullspore Nexus, or Overwhelming Stampede. While vulnerable to well-timed creature removal during combat, the deck possesses strong recursion engines and standalone token production to close out games across turns 5 and 6.
