Deck overview

This Dimir deck leverages Hidetsugu and Kairi as both a library-manipulation engine and a lethal damage outlet. By deploying the commander on Turn 4, the deck uses its enter-the-battlefield trigger to sculpt the top of the library with high-cost sorceries and extra-turn spells. On subsequent turns, copying the commander with cheap clone spells invokes the legend rule, sending one copy to the graveyard immediately. This triggers massive direct life loss against an opponent while casting game-warping spells for free. The deck chains multiple extra turns using spells like Time Stretch and Beacon of Tomorrows, burning through opposing life totals while generating overwhelming board presence with spells like Rise of the Dark Realms and Army of the Damned. While reliant on its commander to bypass massive mana costs, the dense redundancy of clone effects creates an explosive, compounding clock once operational.
