Deck overview

This deck is a Naya Group Slug and burn control strategy commanded by Rocco, Cabaretti Caterer. The primary objective is to accelerate mana in the early turns and establish punishing damage-tax enchantments like Manabarbs, Spellshock, and Ankh of Mishra that drain opponent life totals for taking standard game actions. Rocco serves as an on-demand toolbox tutor from the command zone, primarily fetching Tamanoa to convert all noncreature damage dealt by your spells and permanents into massive life gain. This breaks parity completely, turning symmetrical board damage into an overwhelming resource buffer. Once stabilized at a high life total, the deck eliminates the table using continuous burn from Pyrohemia, mass damage reflection with Repercussion, or alternate win conditions such as Felidar Sovereign and Aetherflux Reservoir. Robust protection spells and board sweepers ensure the deck maintains control through the mid-to-late game.
