Deck overview

This Izzet Stax Aggro deck, led by Karlach, Fury of Avernus and Feywild Visitor, aims to cripple opposing game plans early with oppressive lock pieces before closing the game with aggressive combat damage. Using format-ceiling fast mana such as Chrome Mox, Mana Vault, and Ancient Tomb, the deck rapidly deploys asymmetric denial engines like Blood Moon, Back to Basics, Cursed Totem, and Grafdigger's Cage. These cards shut down multi-color mana bases and creature abilities while your 11 basic lands and artifact mana break parity. Once the table is restricted, high-velocity threats like Slicer, Hired Muscle, Alexios, Deimos of Kosmos, and Caves of Chaos Adventurer deal heavy damage. Karlach doubles this pressure by granting an additional combat phase and untapping your attackers each turn. Backed by a dense package of free interaction including Deflecting Swat, Fierce Guardianship, and Force of Will, the deck reliably defends its board and eliminates all three opponents across multiple combat rotations.
