Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Combat Spellslinger build led by Fire Lord Azula. The strategy revolves around attacking with Azula to generate {R}{R} in combat and duplicate every spell cast while she is attacking. Flash enablers such as Leyline of Anticipation, Vedalken Orrery, and Wizards of Thay allow sorceries to be cast during combat steps, unlocking explosive doubled spell chains. Mana velocity is generated through firebending creatures, Storm-Kiln Artist, and Turnabout, feeding into magecraft card draw engines like Archmage Emeritus. The deck builds toward a critical turn 6-7 finish, using doubled finishers such as Crackle with Power, Exsanguinate, or an evasive dragon swarm from Rite of the Dragoncaller to eliminate the whole table simultaneously. While vulnerable to combat-step removal and lacking fast tutors, the deck provides high synergy, explosive turns, and strong backup storm lines through Thousand-Year Storm.
