Commander: The Howling Abomination

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

The Howling Abomination is a voltron spellslinger engine: the deck points cheap one-mana pump/cantrips at the commander, each target trigger making it bigger and draining each opponent for 2. Copy effects from Leyline of Resonance, Zada, Mirrorwing Dragon, and Frontline Heroism multiply both the drain and the card draw. Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar turns one huge combat hit into 21 commander damage against every opponent, and Chandra's Ignition, Grapeshot, and Venerated Rotpriest serve as alternative finishers. Zada, Hedron Grinder acts as the hidden commander: even if The Howling Abomination is answered, Zada or Mirrorwing can copy spells across the board, while Storm-Kiln Artist and buyback spells create enough mana to chain into a lethal storm or combat swing.
