Deck overview

This deck is a competitive Izzet combo-control list centered on Niv-Mizzet, Parun. The primary strategy focuses on deploying Niv-Mizzet ahead of curve through efficient mana rocks and rituals, then pairing the commander with an Aura or creature that draws cards on damage, such as Curiosity, Ophidian Eye, or Tandem Lookout. Once assembled, any card draw initiates an infinite ping-and-draw sequence that eliminates all three opponents in a single turn. The deck controls the tempo of the table using an extensive package of free and low-cost interaction, including Force of Will, Fierce Guardianship, Deflecting Swat, and Mana Drain. Persistent draw engines like Rhystic Study and Mystic Remora keep the hand full while assembling combo pieces through efficient cantrips and tutors like Dizzy Spell and Gamble. Because Niv-Mizzet cannot be countered, the deck establishes high resilience against opposing blue control strategies.
