Deck overview

This deck is a dedicated Grixis control and attrition strategy centered on Nicol Bolas, the Ravager. The deck spends early turns developing mana with artifacts such as Arcane Signet and Coalition Relic while using spot removal, counterspells, and combat manipulation like Kardur, Doomscourge to suppress aggressive opponents. On Turn 6, the deck hits seven mana to transform its commander into Nicol Bolas, the Arisen, unlocking a powerful draw and reanimation engine. From this commanding position, the deck casts high-impact threats including Grave Titan, Sauron, Lord of the Rings, Cruel Ultimatum, and Nicol Bolas, God-Pharaoh. It grinds down opposing life totals over multiple combat steps while stealing and reanimating key creatures from opposing graveyards. Lacking fast combo finishes, the deck relies on dense board wipes, card advantage, and sustained attrition to overpower the table.
