Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Grixis aristocrats and reanimator strategy helmed by Sauron, the Dark Lord. It combines recursive creature engines, sacrificial value loops, and heavy token generation to dominate board states and close games through deterministic life drain. The primary game plan focuses on assembling an infinite sacrifice loop using Gravecrawler or Forsaken Miner alongside a sacrifice outlet like Phyrexian Altar or Warren Soultrader and a drain payoff such as Blood Artist or Zulaport Cutthroat. Sauron, the Dark Lord serves as an auxiliary engine, providing formidable ward protection, passive Orc Army token creation whenever opponents cast spells, and card filtering through Ring-temptation triggers. Supported by efficient Grixis interaction, premium black tutors, and mass reanimation spells like Living Death, the deck transitions seamlessly between grindy attrition and fast combo finishes.
