New Untitled Deck by bookofnonsense

Format: Commander

Commander: Istvan, Butcher of Eln

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a mono-black sacrifice-recursion engine helmed by Istvan, Butcher of Eln. The deck's core plan is to deploy a dense core of self-recurring creatures (Gravecrawler, Bloodghast, Reassembling Skeleton, etc.), leverage them as fuel for sacrifice outlets like Phyrexian Altar and Priest of Forgotten Gods, and then convert that value into game-ending effects. Primary win conditions are the Gravecrawler + Phyrexian Altar + other Zombie loop into infinite mana, cashed in with Torment of Hailfire, or a massive devotion drain from Gray Merchant of Asphodel. Dictate of Erebos and Grave Pact control the board while the recursive army grinds opponents out. The commander is a secondary threat that grows with each opponent's creature death, but the deck does not rely on him to function.
