Deck overview

This Esper Zombie deck uses Varina, Lich Queen to convert aggressive creature attacks into massive card velocity and graveyard fuel. By deploying low-mana Zombies and mana rocks in the opening turns, the deck sets up its commander on Turn 3 or 4 to loot through the library, pad life totals, and create a growing horde of 2/2 Zombie tokens. The midgame focuses on scaling this army using powerful lords like Undead Warchief and Death Baron, while granting evasion through On Wings of Gold and Geralf, Visionary Stitcher. In addition to combat beatdown and life-drain effects from The Scarab God and Diregraf Captain, the list includes a compact infinite combo between Rooftop Storm and Acererak the Archlich, which ventures through the Lost Mine of Phandelver indefinitely to drain opponents. Supported by a lean, low-cost removal suite and mass reanimation spells like Zombie Apocalypse, the deck balances combat pressure with sustained resilience.
