Deck overview

This deck is a classic Simic tempo strategy built around Edric, Spymaster of Trest. The game plan deploys cheap, evasive 1-drop and 2-drop creatures during the opening turns, casts Edric on turn 3, and immediately turns combat damage into massive card advantage. With a steady flow of fresh cards each combat step, the deck rapidly floods the board with flying and deathtouch threats while keeping mana available for low-cost countermagic to disrupt opponents and protect its attackers. Rather than using infinite combos or extra-turn loops, the deck finishes games on turns 6 and 7 by resolving team pump spells such as Overrun, overloaded Scale Up, and Biomass Mutation, or by stacking poison counters with Fynn, the Fangbearer. Its main vulnerability is its reliance on fragile small creatures, making it susceptible to board sweepers if counterspells are unavailable.
