Format: Commander

Commander: Braids, Arisen Nightmare

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Braids, Arisen Nightmare headlines a mono-black sacrifice and combo shell focused on relentless card draw, resource denial, and aristocrat drain engines. In the early game, Braids sacrifices disposable permanents like Bitterblossom tokens, Mephitic Draught, and recurring creatures to draw extra cards and whittle down opposing life totals. The primary win condition executes infinite sacrifice and drain loops using Gravecrawler combined with Phyrexian Altar or Warren Soultrader alongside drain outlets such as Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, or Marionette Apprentice. Secondary paths leverage massive mana generation from Cabal Coffers into Exsanguinate, or overwhelming creature death triggers generated through Tombstone Stairwell.
