Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Erebos, Bleak-Hearted is a mono-black value/combo deck. The commander is the card-advantage glue rather than the finisher: cheap recursive creatures and token producers sacrifice to Erebos to draw cards and remove threats. The primary path is assembling infinite mana via Basalt Monolith + Rings of Brighthearth, with Walking Ballista as the outlet, or the Phyrexian Altar + Pawn of Ulamog + Nether Traitor loop to generate infinite death triggers and mana, draining opponents with The Meathook Massacre or shooting with Walking Ballista. A parallel -1/-1 counter package around Yawgmoth, Thran Physician is the hidden commander line, using Blowfly Infestation and Nest of Scarabs to generate cards and tokens. Gray Merchant recursion provides a slower backup finish.
