Format: Commander

Commander: Yawgmoth, Thran Physician

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Yawgmoth, Thran Physician leads a mono-black aristocrats combo deck that sacrifices creatures to draw cards and push through -1/-1 counters. The core engine pairs Yawgmoth with Nest of Scarabs and a recursive creature to generate infinite draw and tokens while Blood Artist or Ayara drains opponents. The secondary plan uses Ashnod's Altar, Pitiless Plunderer, and Reassembling Skeleton to produce infinite mana before digging into a payoff. The deck is tutor-dense, capable of assembling lines by turn 5-6, and packs a heavy suite of removal and recursion. It is highly dependent on Yawgmoth remaining on the battlefield, relying on boots and undying tricks to protect its engine.
