Deck overview

This Azorius midrange deck converts massive defensive toughness into offensive combat power. Led by Plagon, Lord of the Beach, the game plan deploys cheap, high-toughness creatures like Wall of Denial, Nyx-Fleece Ram, and Charix, the Raging Isle in the early turns. Plagon's enter-the-battlefield trigger immediately refills the hand based on the number of creatures whose toughness exceeds their power, while its activated ability allows those defenders to assign combat damage equal to their toughness. Evasion enablers like Tetsuko Umezawa, Fugitive and Aqueous Form ensure large threats connect directly with opponent life totals. Backed by asymmetric sweepers like Dusk // Dawn, timing control from Teferi, Time Raveler, and explosive finishers like Akroma's Will, the deck systematically eliminates opponents over successive combat turns while maintaining an impenetrable defensive wall.
