Tax Man by user3386594

Format: Commander

Commander: Grand Arbiter Augustin IV

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Grand Arbiter Augustin IV heads an Azorius tax/prison deck that uses cost reduction and taxing effects to slow opponents while developing a board of small flyers and equipment. The primary plan is to lock the table with Thalia, Blind Obedience, Propaganda, and similar stax pieces, then win through accumulated combat damage-often from multiple Grand Arbiter tokens via Helm of the Host-and extort triggers from Blind Obedience. The commander is essential for early efficiency, but the deck packs enough taxes and answers to function without him, giving it a moderate dependency. A secondary line uses Omniscience to dump the hand and power out a large extort turn. There is no hidden commander.
