Deck overview

This Abzan deck executes a dedicated competitive combo strategy centered on Ghave, Guru of Spores and Heliod, Sun-Crowned. It leverages an explosive suite of 0-mana and 1-mana acceleration to establish mana surplus 2 turns ahead of curve. The primary win lines utilize compact infinite combos: either pairing Heliod, Sun-Crowned with Walking Ballista to deal infinite lifelink ping damage, or utilizing Ghave, Guru of Spores alongside Ashnod's Altar and undying creatures like Young Wolf to generate infinite mana, tokens, and Zulaport Cutthroat drain triggers. The deck protects its setup with disruptive stax pieces like Opposition Agent and Aura Shards, locking down opposing resources while assembling win conditions through creature-based tutors such as Survival of the Fittest and Chord of Calling. With high card flow from The One Ring and Skullclamp, it reliably threatens a protected, same-turn table finish on Turn 4.
