Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Grixis midrange and reanimator strategy commander list built around Sauron, the Dark Lord. It leverages an efficient mana rock curve to deploy Sauron on Turn 4, utilizing his potent Ward ability for inherent protection. Once deployed, every opponent spell builds an Orc Army, which then connects in combat to trigger the Ring tempts you mechanic. This allows the pilot to discard their hand and draw four fresh cards each turn. The deck capitalizes on this massive card churn through nine copies of Nazgûl, which rapidly grow into massive threats, and Archfiend of Ifnir, which converts every wheel trigger into a one-sided creature wipe. Supported by mass reanimation spells like Patriarch's Bidding and Living Death, efficient countermagic, and evasion lands like The Black Gate, the deck controls the board before closing out the game with overwhelming combat damage by Turn 7.
