Deck overview

This Golgari deck uses Jenova, Ancient Calamity to turn creature growth into card advantage. In the early game, you establish low-cost creatures and ramp into Jenova by Turn 4. Jenova targets your creatures at the beginning of combat, placing +1/+1 counters and converting them into Mutants. When these Mutants die on your turn, Jenova refills your hand with cards equal to their power. The deck converts this steady card flow into an expansive board of tokens from Chocobo Racetrack and Endless Ranks of the Dead. You close out the game through repeated aristocrat drain triggers from Vindictive Vampire, Vengeful Bloodwitch, and Al Bhed Salvagers, backed up by powerful combat overruns like Rydia's Return and The Earth Crystal. While light on instant-speed stack protection, the list generates high card volume and recovers smoothly through targeted recursion spells.
