Deck overview

Tannuk, Steadfast Second helms a mono-red stompy deck designed to cheat expensive artifacts and red creatures into play ahead of curve. Tannuk grants other creatures haste and gives artifact cards and red creature cards in hand warp {2}{R}. This discount bypasses the steep mana costs of devastating bombs like Blightsteel Colossus, Ancient Copper Dragon, Portal to Phyrexia, and Utvara Hellkite. The primary plan accelerates Tannuk onto the battlefield by Turn 3 or 4, immediately warping in massive threats that attack without delay. Utility cards like Sundial of the Infinite and Conjurer's Closet allow the pilot to bypass warp's end-step exile trigger, turning temporary beaters into permanent threats. While the deck relies on fair combat damage across two response cycles rather than instant combos, its sheer mana velocity, explosive card draw, and high payoff density overwhelm opposing boards rapidly.
