Deck overview

This Grixis deck leverages Sauron, the Dark Lord at the helm of a dedicated reanimator and midrange control strategy. The primary game plan focuses on deploying early 2-CMC mana acceleration and looting engines to discard high-impact threats such as Archon of Cruelty, Jin-Gitaxias, Progress Tyrant, and The Balrog of Moria. Cheap reanimation spells then cheat these behemoths onto the battlefield ahead of curve on Turns 4 to 5. Once Sauron, the Dark Lord resolves, every opponent's spell amasses an Orc Army, which subsequently triggers the Ring's temptation upon dealing combat damage to discard an exhausted hand and draw four fresh cards.
