Deck overview

This is a mono-black Equipment Voltron and life-drain deck helmed by Whiplash, Vengeful Engineer. The primary plan is to flood the board with cheap Equipment, suit up the 1-mana commander, and attack to drain each opponent for X life (and gain the same), where X equals the number of Equipment attached. Dense Equipment (roughly two dozen pieces), haste enablers, and evasion let Whiplash connect early and often; drain doublers such as Bloodletter of Aclazotz, Wound Reflection, and Archfiend of Despair turn modest X values into table-wide lethality. Secondary paths include classic lifegain loops (Bloodthirsty Conqueror + Sanguine Bond/Enduring Tenacity), big devotion swings with Gray Merchant of Asphodel, and raw X-spells like Exsanguinate. Genji Glove supplies an extra-combat finisher and Helm of the Host multiplies bodies. The deck plays as a resilient midrange Voltron that grinds value through lifelink Equipment and recursion while threatening both combat drains and infinite life loops.
