Deck overview

This mono-black aristocrats and reanimation deck is helmed by Avacyn, Angel of Horror, an 8-mana powerhouse that returns any nontoken creature you control (including herself) to the battlefield at the beginning of the next end step whenever it dies. The deck accelerates mana aggressively using low-cost rocks, explosive dark rituals, and mono-black land doublers like Cabal Coffers and Crypt Ghast to deploy high-impact threats early. By pairing Avacyn with free instant-speed sacrifice outlets such as Viscera Seer, Ashnod's Altar, and Warren Soultrader, the deck sacrifices impactful ETB and death-trigger creatures on every player's turn. Creatures like Accursed Marauder repeatedly wipe opposing boards, Disciple of Bolas draws immense bursts of cards, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel rapidly drains all three opponents. Supported by Grave Pact effects and alternate engines like K'rrik, Son of Yawgmoth, the deck grinds out opponents with overwhelming asymmetric attrition.
