Urza's little buddies B2 by user2800572

Format: Commander

Commander: Mendicant Core, Guidelight

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is an Azorius artifact-token value deck built entirely around Mendicant Core, Guidelight's "Start your engines!" copy ability. The plan is to deploy cheap evasive one-drops like Cloud Sprite and Triton Shorestalker to begin accruing speed, land the commander on turn two, then race to max speed so every artifact spell can be copied for {1}. Once online, the commander doubles every artifact ETB - Thought Monitor draws four, Uthros Research Craft draws two and stacks charge counters, and token engines like Sai, Master Thopterist and Efficient Construction double their output. The deck wins through a wide, pumped artifact-creature swarm, with Rise and Shine, The Antiquities War, and Cyberdrive Awakener as the mass-animation finishers and Temporal Manipulation as an extra-turn enabler. It is a classic "engine deck": explosive once speed hits 4, but dependent on the commander and vulnerable to artifact hate.
