Deck overview

This Izzet deck is an aggressive Spellslinger Voltron build led by Speedball, New Warrior. The core strategy revolves around casting cheap 1-mana targeting cantrips such as Slip Through Space, Pym Particles, and Shadow Rift to continuously trigger Speedball's growth while maintaining card flow. His unique triggered ability grants him +2/+2 and allows you to choose new targets for any spell that targets him, turning opposing single-target removal into free removal against opposing boards. The deck accelerates into decisive combat steps using power doublers like Unleash Fury and Bulk Up, paired with Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar to distribute lethal commander damage across the entire table. When the primary voltron plan is disrupted, token generators such as Young Pyromancer, Talrand, Sky Summoner, and Third Path Iconoclast generate wide flying and ground armies, while Zada, Hedron Grinder exponentially multiplies single-target cantrips into massive game-ending team buffs.
