Deck overview

This mono-red burn and spellslinger deck is built around Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might, transforming minor increments of noncombat damage into catastrophic table-wide burn. The deck operates by establishing low-cost pingers such as Firebrand Archer, Kessig Flamebreather, and Coruscation Mage, or casting group-slug sorceries like Boltwave and End the Festivities. Once Axonil is deployed, temporary power buffs including Brute Force, Infuriate, and Monstrous Rage elevate Axonil's power to 7 or greater, scaling every 1-damage instance into massive chunks of life loss for each opponent simultaneously. Fast mana rituals (Jeska's Will, Seething Song) and Magecraft engines (Storm-Kiln Artist, Ashling, Flame Dancer) fuel explosive burst turns, while graveyard re-casters (Mizzix's Mastery, Will of the Jeskai) provide storm finishes. The deck is shielded by free and low-cost redirection (Deflecting Swat, Bolt Bend) and possesses resilient recursion through Axonil's land transformation Temple of Power.
