Deck overview

This deck is a Bant political control and +1/+1 counters strategy commanded by Kros, Defense Contractor. The primary game plan revolves around placing counters on opposing creatures to tap and goad them, neutralizing incoming attacks while forcing opponents to decimate each other's life totals and blockers. Meanwhile, the deck builds its own overwhelming board state using scaling counter engines like Brokers Ascendancy, Evolution Sage, and Tekuthal, Inquiry Dominus. Card draw engines such as Generous Patron and Verity Circle capitalize on opponent counter distribution and tap triggers to keep the hand stocked with interaction and protection. The deck closes games around Turn 8 through unblockable alpha strikes enabled by Herald of Secret Streams, trampling giant creatures, or an alternate win condition via Simic Ascendancy.
