Deck overview

This Golgari deck is a tribal midrange strategy centered on Shelob, Child of Ungoliant. The game plan revolves around accelerating mana in the early turns using 1–2 CMC mana dorks and rocks, then deploying Shelob on Turn 4–5 to grant all Spiders deathtouch and ward {2}. The deck leverages instant-speed fight and bite spells, alongside repeatable ping equipment like Viridian Longbow and Thornbite Staff, to systematically eliminate opposing creatures while stealing them as Food artifact copies. These tokens fuel mana acceleration through Jaheira, Friend of the Forest and Night of the Sweets' Revenge, draw cards through Peregrin Took, and drain life with Mirkwood Bats. The deck finishes games through wide combat overruns powered by Beastmaster Ascension or Triumph of the Hordes, life drain from Rotwidow Pack, or by assembling its two-card infinite drain combo with Exquisite Blood and Sanguine Bond.
