Deck overview

Felothar the Steadfast commands an Abzan toughness-matters midrange deck that turns cheap, high-toughness defenders into formidable combat threats and massive card-draw engines. In the opening turns, the deck deploys low-cost walls like Wall of Omens, Overgrown Battlement, and Sylvan Caryatid to build an impenetrable defense and ramp ahead of curve. Once Felothar the Steadfast enters the battlefield, these utility creatures can attack freely and assign combat damage equal to their toughness. Felothar also converts high-toughness creatures into immense card advantage by sacrificing them to draw cards equal to their toughness. Asymmetric sweepers like Slaughter the Strong and Expel the Interlopers clear opposing boards without touching your zero-power creatures, paving the way for lethal alpha strikes. High-impact finishers such as Baldin, Century Herdmaster, Tree of Perdition, and Towering Titan close out the game quickly through overwhelming combat power.
