Thanos by DiarrheaTsunami

Format: Commander

Commander: Thanos, the Mad Titan

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a five-color "goodstuff" ramp deck helmed by the custom commander Thanos, the Mad Titan. The primary game plan is to accelerate mana heavily in the early turns, deploy Thanos, and use his one-time power-up ability to wipe the board of all creatures with a chosen mana-value parity while leaving your own board intact. From there, the deck deploys an arsenal of high-impact threats - Blightsteel Colossus, Darksteel Colossus, Kozilek, Butcher of Truth, Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger, and Avacyn, Angel of Hope - that are nearly impossible to answer once the board is clear. Secondary win conditions include the mana-sink spells Torment of Hailfire and Villainous Wealth, which can end the game when backed by the deck's substantial ramp. The deck also packs a dense suite of tutors, counterspells, and removal to find key pieces and protect its game plan.
