Deck overview

Mendicant Core, Guidelight leads an Azorius artifact aggro-midrange deck focused on the speed mechanic, vehicle synergies, and artifact token generation. The game plan centers on casting the commander early on Turn 2, then applying consistent combat pressure to increase speed to Max Speed (4) by Turn 5. Once Max Speed is reached, Mendicant Core allows you to pay one mana to duplicate every artifact spell cast, rapidly multiplying mana rocks, utility vehicles, and construct threats. Win conditions revolve around dealing lethal commander damage with a tall Mendicant Core equipped with Blackblade Reforged or granted double strike by Pride of the Road, while evasive Thopters and heavy beaters like Steel Hellkite and Riptide Gearhulk sweep away opposing boards. The deck is supported by efficient low-cost ramp and solid reactive removal, though it lacks heavy stax elements and remains susceptible to artifact sweepers.
