Deck overview

This is an Izzet spellslinger midrange deck helmed by Zaffai and the Tempests. The plan is to deploy Opus creatures and prepared dual-faced casters, then chain instants and sorceries to grow the board, generate tokens, and extract incremental value. Zaffai and the Tempests is a high-impact but expensive (7 CMC) payoff that free-casts one instant or sorcery from hand each turn, turning every subsequent big spell into a massive Opus trigger and tempo swing. Primary wins come from combat-pumped bodies like Tackle Artist, self-copying Colorstorm Stallion, double-striking Expressive Firedancer, and Spirit/Elemental tokens-supported by burn modes and graveyard-fueled finishers such as Steal the Show. There are no infinite combo lines; the deck grinds value, recycles its spell suite with Wisdom of Ages and Divergent Equation, and eventually overwhelms through board presence and free casts.
