Halana and Alena, partners EDH cheap by user5975178

Format: Commander

Commander: Halana and Alena, Partners

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Halana and Alena lead a Gruul counter-pump deck that wins by concentrating +1/+1 counters on one or two attackers and then multiplying them through attack triggers. The commander's beginning-of-combat trigger both grows a creature and grants haste, letting newly played pump pieces attack the same turn. There is no hidden commander; the real engine is the shared group of counter carriers and attack-trigger pumpers (Ornery Tumblewagg, Wild Beastmaster, Syr Faren, Ashroot Animist). Secondary plans include Rulik Mons land/token advantage, Oviya cheated creatures with counters, and Mirror-Style Master token copies. The deck closes one opponent per combat, using trample, menace, and Rogue's Passage to push through.
