Deck overview

This list is an optimized mono-black turbo combo deck that uses Marrow-Gnawer, twenty copies of Rat Colony, and dense artifact fast mana to execute explosive early kills. The primary win condition pairs Marrow-Gnawer with Thornbite Staff, creating infinite Rat tokens, infinite enter-the-battlefield triggers, and infinite death triggers to drain all opponents simultaneously with Ayara, First of Locthwain, Zulaport Cutthroat, or The Meathook Massacre. A full suite of black tutors and premier card advantage engines—including Necropotence, Necrodominance, Bolas's Citadel, and Peer into the Abyss—ensures high consistency. Proactive disruption pieces like Contamination, Opposition Agent, and Dauthi Voidwalker suppress opposing strategies and lock out non-black mana bases while the deck sets up its own win lines. When Marrow-Gnawer is disrupted, backup avenues like Thrumming Stone ripple chains and Bolas's Citadel storm lines close out the game quickly.
