Deck overview

This deck is a casual Dimir midrange strategy led by Taskmaster, Mercenary Mimic. It looks to establish a baseline creature curve using Villain typal cards and evasive beaters before casting Taskmaster on turn 4. On turn 5, Taskmaster begins copying the best creature across all graveyards and battlefields, leveraging powerful abilities and stats. The deck supports this game plan with a suite of 3-mana counterspells, targeted removal, and combat-focused payoffs such as The Masters of Evil, Madame Masque, and Crossbones, Malicious Mercenary. Because the list runs minimal mana acceleration and no infinite combos, it closes games through traditional combat steps over extended turn cycles. While resilient to commander removal thanks to independent high-cost threats like Arvinox, the Mind Flail, the deck is vulnerable to board sweepers and fast aggressive starts due to its deliberate pace and mana-intensive answers.
