Deck overview

The Serpent Society commands a Golgari combat-attrition deck that blends deathtouch tribal synergies with an escalating poison counter strategy. By curving out with low-cost deathtouch creatures on early turns, the deck creates an impenetrable ground defense and enables profitable combat trades. Once the commander enters the battlefield, any death among your deathtouch creatures forces each opponent to sacrifice a nontoken creature, systematically dismantling opposing creature boards while breaking parity. The deck applies lethal pressure through toxic attackers and Fynn, the Fangbearer, then compounds poison totals across the entire table using a suite of proliferate spells like Drown in Ichor and Expand the Sphere. Commander ward provides a punishing five-poison tax against targeted disruption, making removal costly for opponents while you steadily proliferate them to ten poison counters.
