Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Grixis wheel and discard burn strategy commanded by Nicol Bolas, the Ravager // Nicol Bolas, the Arisen. The game plan revolves around deploying passive damage punishers that trigger whenever opponents draw or discard cards, then casting symmetrical wheel spells to trigger massive bursts of table-wide life loss. Cards like Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, Nekusar, the Mindrazer, Liliana's Caress, and Underworld Dreams turn symmetrical refill effects like Windfall, Wheel of Misfortune, and Dark Deal into lethal burn spells. Mana engines like Waste Not and Storm-Kiln Artist convert opponent discards and spell casts into explosive mana to chain multiple wheels in a single turn. The deck rounds out its strategy with strong Grixis control elements, planeswalker attrition, reanimation backup, and high-impact finishers like Torment of Hailfire and Forced Fruition to overwhelm the entire table.
