Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy mono-black control and reanimator engine commanded by M.O.D.O.K.. The strategy converts life directly into card selection and graveyard velocity through M.O.D.O.K.'s zero-mana connive ability, rapidly growing the commander while sculpting hands and filling the graveyard. M.O.D.O.K.'s passive -1/-1 aura suppresses opposing tokens and mana dorks starting on Turn 4, forming a hard creature lockout when paired with Maha, Its Feathers Night. The deck leverages discard payoffs like Archfiend of Ifnir, Bone Miser, and Syr Konrad, the Grim to continuously wipe opposing boards and drain player life totals. High-impact mass reanimation spells like Living Death and devotion bursts from Gray Merchant of Asphodel close out the table by Turn 7, while lifelink combat swings sustain the deck's aggressive life-spending engine.
