Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered Grixis reanimator and midrange strategy helmed by Sauron, the Dark Lord. The deck leverages early mana acceleration and targeted graveyard enablers like Entomb and Buried Alive to deploy massive, oppressive threats including Archon of Cruelty, Vilis, Broker of Blood, and Kokusho, the Evening Star well ahead of curve. In parallel, Sauron, the Dark Lord punishes opposing spellcasting by continuously amassing Orc Armies, which trigger Ring-tempt abilities on combat connection to filter away spent hands into fresh four-card grips. Redundant copies of Nazgûl grow rapidly through Ring tempts, serving as efficient deathtouch beaters. Supported by free defensive interaction like Fierce Guardianship and Deadly Rollick, as well as game-resetting sorceries like Living Death, the deck grinds down opposing life totals and hands before closing the game via overwhelming aerial and combat damage by Turn 7.
